AI, Machine Learning, and Deep Learning are not the same

Most people use AI, Machine Learning, and Deep Learning like they mean the same thing… they don’t. Artificial Intelligence is the big umbrella. If a machine can mimic human intelligence — that’s AI. Examples are Chatbots, self-driving cars, and recommendation systems.

On the other hand, Machine Learning is a subset of AI. Instead of programming rules, we feed data to the machine, and it learns patterns from it. Examples include Netflix learning what you like. Deep Learning is advanced Machine Learning. It uses artificial neural networks with many layers — that’s why it’s called deep. It’s used in Face recognition, Speech recognition, Self-driving cars, and tools like  ChatGPT.

So remember, AI is the goal, Machine Learning is the method, and Deep Learning is the powerful engine.
